Tips for you today ladies and gentlemen, for your low limit POKER games:
# Fight only with the best starting cards, and in regular action, it should take you around 20 to 25 percent of flops, but of course, don't expect this to happen everyday.
# If you are a newbie, learn humility. By this, I mean stop adopting the attitude that you should be fighting against the veterans so that you would feel challenged. Challenged you may be, but your bankroll would not. Your bankroll would be crying buckets, but of course, it's a different story if you are rich, a high-roller. If you are a newbie, earn by staying at tables populated by the fish, the weird, the newbies- going on the assumption that you are a stronger newbie than the rest.
# Raise or bet when mandated, when it is worth it-calling is a wasteful move, enough said.
# Maintain a strong kicker: so many times, weak kickers would just form second-strongest hands, and they would cost you painful lessons if you insist on holding on to them. If you always think a 10 is a strong kicker, think again.

Net gambling (in theory at least) should be enjoyable, but instead of being fun, it becomes the result of financial ruin for so many individuals. One big reason for this is too much greed. So many gamblers set unrealistic goals on exactly how much cash they should bring home. Let us say that Mr Gambler wins a couple of hands in online poker or blackjack or whatever, he would wish to win bigger and bigger. Thus, he would wager bigger sums, but then his luck would turn sour. What would be the bottom line: he would lose bigger sums because of his bigger stakes, there is no escaping that fact. (If the winning streak keeps on, well, very good...but if you are a gambler as experienced as I am, then you know fully well that streaks are not the rule, they are the exception).
I am not saying that you stop aspiring to win money, but if you have already won 500$ and it's deep in the night, it would be best to just quit. Why keep on, when you already have money to give to the wife/husband? A little word of wisdom: whether you are playing for fun or going after big money, do not set goals that you know deep down, are very illogical and unrealistic.

Let me tell you a little story, a true one actually. I have a friend named Ergan (short for...ehr, never mind), and this guy is a true multi-tasker. I once saw him quarreling with his wife over the mobile, while ironing his shirt, at the same time monitoring Cable news about Russia, while waiting for somethng to cook in the microwave oven, WHILE still studying a highly problematic chess position (the board was right there beside the ironing board). I thought to myself, I would not be able to do all that simultaneously even if somebody threatens me with a gun in front of my eyes.
Anyway, Ergan, we introduced him to online gambling (poker) just about six months ago, and boy, he took to the activity like a moth to flames. This guy (Ergan, not the moth) really was born to be a multi-tasker of the 21st century. One time, he played about 11 tables (all poker) in four different sites- well, he used 2 or 3 PCs for that- and in the process, he lost around six grand.
The irony of it all, he was jumping with joy when all the tables were done, and we asked (I am saying 'we', there were other friends), HOW CAN YOU BE SO HAPPY? He said, 'six grand I can earn in a week, but the sheer joy of THE PRESSURES of all games simultaneously held!'- his face shone as though Jesus had appeared to him and told him that he is sure to enter heaven anytime he wants. Such a guy, a very interesting one, maybe he should run for president.

Assuming you are a newbie, and you would be joining the world of the online gambling community, then one good news for you is that you would be bombarded with Net enticements from the online gambling sites. You may think of it as coming from the kindness of their heart, but that would be a matter for debate. What is not a matter for debate is that almost all of them do this as a form of advertising enticement. As such, it is standard practice now for online rooms to give away monthly bonuses to all and sundry.
These bonuses being proferred could be a set amount of points, that or cash worth about 200$. When the casino offers this sum as the deposit bonus, gambler would be forced to play a set number of times, for that designated 200 dollars to be liquidated.
Take note, some online rooms offer incredible bonuses, and when I say "incredible", I mean it in an unbelieving, sarcastic way. Have you ever come across a site that says they would give thousands of dollars? Veer away from these kind of overacting sites, remember that trite but true saying, if it's too good to be true, then there is a catch.
Then, there are also bonuses that require the gamblers to play another game, for the bonus to be availed of, so, better watch out. Say you hate roulette for whatever reason, you might be so frustrated if you find out late that to claim that 200 dollar reward, you would have to play a certain number of hours in the roulette game. Check out the nitty-gritty before availing of the bonuses.

Let me tell you something about one of my favorite online rooms, the Music Hall Casino. They have our favorite offerings such as Progressive games, the table games, and video poker. If you are the kind who wants a trial first, avail of their Instant Casino games, that or download the free games.
Their software is not just OK, it is more than ok. Unlike some sites whose softwares are as colorful as the sky during a starless, moonless night, this site has a eye-catching backdrop, of course, I cannot describe it here. You would have to see it yourself to find out. Customer service, no problem, they have a 24-7 thing running, unlike a few gambling rooms I've encountered who follow banking hours, disregarding the multitudes of gamblers who are insomniacs, who might want to inquire or complain in the dawn hours.
I introduced the room to a friend, and he gave me feedback just the other day. He said that after trying out the dryrun games for a couple of hours, he deposited a hundred dollars. He won around 100$, not bad for a first-timer really. He said that he would continue at his desk (office) workstation, I tried to discourage him from doing so, but he might not appreciate a reminder.
It's his job, and one more thing, I am just a friend to him, not his dad.

Since it is my wont not to reveal the true name of the online site, I'll hide it under the name "Castle of Fortune.com", and of course, it is an online gambling room. Let me give you a hint, the keywords (meaning the castle and the fortune) are synonyms to the real words of the real site's name. There, you should get it easily enough, so let me go on.
Castle of Fortune.com gives a strong casino experience, and they have been around for a long time now. From 1999, the room has been providing around a hundred games which include the mainstream: Keno, Craps, roulette and slots games.
Without an offering of bonuses, they would not have lasted as long as they are doing now, and what do they have for us? Gratis one hunrdred percent bonus, with a cash layout of 25 dollars up to 200 dollars. The coupon code is 100Treasures (there, with eyes closed you can find out the actual site, if you get my meaning).
Two hundred percent bonus is cashable, with a deposit of (still) 25 to 250 dollars, it is for Bingo, Keno and their slots. The coupon code for this one is 200Treasures. This room is merely competitive, as opposed to being a mover and shaker, still, if you want a break from your favorite room, and you want to "sample" a new gambling experience, it would not hurt to check this one out.
"How am I supposed to do that without you giving the name?" YOU MUST BE ASKING- I did, I've given the giveaway clues.

The EGBA (European Gaming and Betting Association) lodged a formal grievance
(read: complaint) with the EU very recently, and what was it all about? This was in
reaction to the just-passed German Interstate Treaty, a mandate prohibiting (for all
intents and purposes) all kinds of Net gambling save for horse races. Hmm...reminds
me of the UIGEA, surely cut from the same cloth would not you say? This law (the
German thing, not the UIGEA) went into being enforced on Jan 1. The EGBA, in case
you know nothing about them, is a congregation put up by eight of the biggest Net
gambling providers of Europe, such as PartyGaming, Unibet- just to mention two.
They asserted that this treaty was- and I quote "in direct contravention of European
law", and their Sec-General no less said it more bluntly: this treaty is not compatible
with the mandates of EU. This top honcho and the rest of the EGBA urgeed the
Commission to immediately attend to this grievance, and to come up with
infringement actions against Germany- on this one, I am curious, very curious as to
what would happen next.
There was a minor case, while not directly linked to Net wagering, still drew the
eyes of the Net gambling circles. The CA of Versailles acted on a request by
somebody named Dewyn, for French proceedings versus him nullified, owing to
legality's technicalities. The charges were called "illicit lottery" (wow, this is the
first I've heard of such a phrase), and "clandestine betting" at horse events.

Speed of DGS Casino Software: it is faster than average, and if you are a blackjack buff, you would most probably have fun in here. You could play around five hundred to six hundred hands on an hourly basis.
The reputation of the software: Well, here is the thing, I asked ten of my friends who have experienced playing this, and 6 of them said "very good", while the remaining four said "just ok", or "nothing to admire about". Well, sixty percent is a majority, but clearly not a great majority. As for myself, I have not really used the software for a lot of times, I will not dare judge it based on just a few occasions. (Well, if you want to know why I am writing about this, why not?) The fact remains, a lot of online rooms using the DGS software are under the ownership of big renowned online sportsbooks, and that is not an opinion. You need not take my word for it, all you need to do is ask around.
The betting requirement tracking: the gamblers are requested to either montor their own betting manually, or call the customer service people to confirm wager completion before a cash payout. The latter is par for the course, that is standard procedure now with so many sites.

If you have been playing at the landbased casino for decades, and you ask me,"why should I go online and stop going to my landbased?" Well, my answer is, itis my personal opinion that it would be best if one could still do both landbased and online gambling, even if one side is more frequent than the other.
Anyway, going back to the question, let me answer it these ways. First, if you are a non-smoker, and you've had it up to your eyeballs (in anger and annoyance) when it comes to the smoke-filled air, then online is the best answer. Of course, unless your computer turns out to be capable of smoking too! If you have the ability (call it whatever) to get into verbal feuds with dealers, then online is the answer. What about tipping: I will NOT call you stingy, but if you hate tipping, then online it is. (Unless your computer turns out to be- not just capable of smoking, but of asking for tips too).
Downsides, now I go to the other side- not all sites pay out fast. There are those with lousy systems/protocol, that you may have to wait quite a bit before getting your money. But that my friends, is the essence of an imperfect world, in a perfect world, all of us would probably win big money every other day.

I am sure that you have an idea on the things you should watch out for, in the way of choosing the best online gambling rooms, but I am giving 3 crucial criteria here, just to help you out.
First, the kind and number of gamblers in the site: check more or less how many souls are already in there. The bigger the membership profile, the more desirable. I mean, would you would want a site where there are just 2 poker tables, because there are less than 20 gamblers registered? The more registered members, the more opponents you could have at anytime in the day. Of course, the bigger the number, the more chances of facing off poker fish, and that should be good news for you.
Second, the kind of games: you may be a poker or a craps buff, but if there is no roulette (or baccarat) to serve as a diversion, you'll probably get bored to death if that's the only game you'll play, every hour, every day. (Naturally, there are individuals who would prove to be the exception to the rule). This includes the variants, I personally, would choose a room where there are a number of poker variants to select from, over that of a room that only has Texas Holdem.
Third and last, fast rewards, meaning, they give payouts without unnecessary hassles, I will not go on. You know exactly what I mean, there, I'll see you at the gambling rooms.

It is bad news for a lot of people, (including myself, even if I am not German), Net gambling has been prohibited in Germany, all starting on the first day of the new year. This is part of the accord with those places that maintain the monopoly for betting (various forms) and on lotteries.
Each and every of the sixteen state legislatures voted "OK" to the new Net-betting mandates, which these states discussed after their Federal Constitutional Court reversed past policies.
Those new rules prohibit any kind of Web-anchored wagering or brokering, and if we may not consider this as their version of the UIGEA, the definitely belong to the same barn.
Of course, these new mandates drew criticisms from Net wagering firms and brokers such as Fluxx and Tipp24 (what names they have there). Another affected entity, Bwin, sued a number of states sometime last year, those cases are still up in the air, so to speak.
What about the EC, the European Commission, what do they have to say about this: they called on this country to rethink, voicing that the move was not in proportion.
That was quite some time back, and Germany shook its head to that demand, asserting that the mandates were necessary to shield their citizens from the risks of gambling, good Lord, I mean...are their citizens robots? (I respect the German adults, and I think they can discern what is "evil" and what is not, I think the Germans are intelligent enough to be responsible in their wagering ways).

This is what I did, I surfed and just for the sheer fun of it, I said that I would pick the 3rd site (online room) I can find, then write about what their home/advert page says.
Never mind the name, it is not core to this discussion. If you know me by now, then you would realize that this is definitely not to advertise the site, let it be known, that for this particular site, I could not care less if it folded up itsbusiness tomorrow. (It's for you to be reminded or informed on the mainstream current offerings).
This online site's games hold compatibility with many platforms present in the market today. They assure the multitudes of gamblers of security, fast payouts, and help (if necessary) from a 24/7 support arm (customer service).
You could have the "true taste of Vegas" upon gambling in this room, that's what they say, and I don't know about you, but if they think the line is inspiring, it is not. I must have read that kind of line from more than a dozen online gambling rooms over the years.
Well, the mainstream games remain to be the mainstream in this room, and theyare craps, blackjack, roulette and poker. If what you want are not the mainstream offerings, then take heart, they also have Keno and video poker in this room.

It's not a pure "surrender", but it's something, at least in my humble opinion. US leadership recently announced that they have concurred on maintaining concessions for entities from EU, Japan and Canada, those who wish to do trade/business in the country.
EU said that they got trade concessions in the mail services and the warehousing department, and likewise in US market "doors" for the firms of Europe which offer analysis/testing.
At the end of the day though, according to insiders of the US Trade Rep's office, the agreement still does not allow new services for foreign entities seeking to compete. Officials of the EU disclosed that this deal would bear on how DHL (Germany) would compete with FedEx and United Parcel Service- I don't know about you, but on this particular score I cannot care less. (Call me self-centered on this score, I don't care. It is my firm belief that with so many souls on earth, all of them can a have a fair share of the market).
For as long as they send out the things I want sent outside the country, fast, on-time and with full carefulness (in breakable things I mean). Washington has also agreed to be lenient (relax I mean) on access to European providers of R&D of the natural science fields, humanities and social sciences.

The softwares for online gaming could be said to have been born a year or so before the coming in of 2000, and Playtech casinos give the multitudes of gamblers top-notch features, good graphics and easy navigational tools.
Their card games: progressive jackpots, bonus slots, table games, live poker (via webcam), Keno, and lest you think I am forgetting, multi-line slots games.
If my sources (I have to admit this, my very favorite online sites are NOT powered by Playtech, but I respect their professionalism) are to be believed, at present, they offer sixty to one hundred different games to select from. If you are fond of a real human being in front of you while gambling, then their live-via-webcam games would be something you will appreciate.
Reliability and security are matters prioritized by this entity, and gamblers can check each bet placed. Although my friend Oscar always bemoans, "I cannot check that bet, THEY HAVE LOST IT". Knowing this person, he is just so stupid, but hey, he is a friend, and OSCAR is not his real name anyway.
Their RNGs are certified by what they call the Tech System Testing, this should guarantee that gambling operators are running in a secure/fair procedure.
Let me put this straight, this is not an endorsement of Playtech in general, let me reiterate, my Number One Favorite Online Room is not powered by Playtech, and of course, that particular room is run by one of the movers and shakers. Just like Playtech, so, I'm done...go and play...I'll see you in a Playtech-powered room. (I never said I never play in any of their rooms).

This analysis came from one of US' lawmakers, that taxed Net gambling could give up to 42.8B dollars for federal chests, this over the next 10 years. To break it down, the study says that 3.1B dollars up to fifteen billion in federal incomes would be generated in the first half of the decade, while 8.7B dollars up to 42.8B over this coming whole decade.
Said this lawmaker, I retained the case used in speaking, but I paraphrased, :"Putting in very conservative estimates, the regulation/licensing/collection of taxes would give the needed money to our Treasury. It is money being earned by other countries, which we are losing, just BECAUSE A FEW OF MY COLLEAGUES assert we could actually bar people from online gambling activities. This is money we will keep on losing if we disregard the truth that if American adults wish to gamble online, they would and they could". Very well said, I mean, I paraphrased the whole thing and it still impresses.
I do not want to name who this lawmaker is (personal reasons this time), but hey, I like the guy, and I like the way his mind runs. If only all of America's lawmakers (that includes BOTH houses) could be as openminded as he is, then the US people as a whole would be better off, in so many things.

Here we go again, on the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, this I remember, right after it was signed by the President sometime last year, an experts made known his views regarding the law. Let me go through some of them and I'm going to give my take on whether his fears/predictions came to pass or were proved wrong.
First: celebrity poker culture and mindset would get reduced. MY TAKE: If it did, I surely did not notice it, after all, there are still celebrity shows of poker on TV.
Second: the major world events like the WSOP, would decline (size-wise) for the very first time. Not only this great tradition, but also the other major events- would suffer. MY TAKE: the expert may have been correct, up to a point. This year's WSOP (if I remember right) was not as populated as last year's, but only by a tad. Actually, it is my firm belief that landbased casinos reaped advantages because turned-off individuals who let go online gambling have returned to landbased live activity.
Third: Net gaming sponsorships of different products would go down. MY TAKE: on this one I agree. The ads of the major online rooms seen constantly on TV got cut down drastically, if not totally removed. I actually have a friend who runs an advert firm, their principal clients were poker rooms. Because of this new law (new, I was thinking of 2006), their principal clients fled away, and they were forced to throw in the towel.
Well, now that a new proposal seeking to do amendments on the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, let us wait and see if finally, our online poker/gambling industry will be given more breathing room.

Indeed, among the most desirable attributes of the UKCasino Club online room is this: they offer very fast money action. Read: the payouts are given faster than your average online gambling room. Amount that could be withdrawn is dependent on the kind of VIP status, and they have four. They are: valued, silver, platinum, gold.
If you are a newbie to the room, you'll be starting it out at the 'valued' (I wonder if there is ever a site with a status called "cherished"), and they could get from 100$ to 500$, ceiling of five hundred dollars/week. Then, after some time, as the gambler goes up to the Platinum, there would be no max withdrawal (weekly) and one could at once acquire from 250 to 2,500$ on a daily basis.
Every day (well, from what I've heard, no longer everyday, but still often), the site runs a tourney focused on a particular game, the top 10 competitors in the money bracket. They could share a jackpot reward of up to one thousand dollars- but that was then. Chances are, they have gone up too.
This site has over 130 offerings, and even if you are a particular gambler, the kind who would like at least 4 or 5 different poker variants to choose from, this room will not disappoint.

It cannot be argued that Microgaming keeps improving their software, not just that, they keep on adding on to their list of games. If you are not aware of it, their online slots are as numerous now as the sands of the Sahara desert. (Point is: do not bother counting, by the time you think you have kept up, another game has just come in into the market).
The mission (I was tempted to put vision-mission goal) of this entity is to (I am paraphrasing) come up with a very effective software and systems for online operators, so that they would be able to have the most dependable and lucrative online platforms. They have in mind the interests of the gaming populace, vis-a-vis transparency and mature gambling.
What exactly do they offer: a downloadable and also the Flash kind. Here is the good news for neophytes: you may play at the gratis games under "fun mode" or play money games. The bad news: almost all of them (the rooms) have this policy, if you advance yourself to the real-money games, going back to the fun games is no longer permitted. (Well, if you get a deep passion for the free games, then you'll have to stay there forever, not to mince words).
There are some Microgaming sites which bar US players, and we can safely conclude that one of the reasons is that HONORABLE (ahrm-uhm-a-hurm) law, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Law.

Nostalgia Casino (that's nostalgiacasino.com) has 138 slots (I would not be surprised if it's more than that now), with a total number of 245. If you are a buff of progressive games, then you may choose from any of the following- Roulette Royal, Triple Sevens, Cash Splash, Major Millions, Treasure Nile, and still others.
The games are accessible via both the downloadable and the ND kind. The no-download (Flash) has 100 offerings, and if you cannot get what you want from all of those, then maybe gambling is not really what you want huh? Powered by the Microgaming Viper software, this online room has made a name for itself in the cutthroat competition of online rooms. The fact that they are still there notwithstanding the Unlawful Internet Gambling law's presence is a very telling thing.
Each day of the week, the site gives a special set of promotions. I really want you to visit them (in case you have not), so I will refrain from giving the specifics. Nothing beats suspense doesn't it?
One last word, they have free game levels in the site, so even if you are broke, you can still have fun. (Believe it or not, the times I played their free money games, I was far from broke, I did it just for the fun, and it was...fun that is).

Put up in 1994, Microgaming goes on record as one of the true pioneers in its industry, that is, the supplying of casino online systems. A fundamental part of Microgaming's thrust is total fairness to all gamblers. It cannot be denied, in this spending-oriented world of the Net, a secure and dependable environ is crucial to have a smooth traffic. Due to their commitment to fair play and transparency, the entity came up with their Credibility Technologies. This gives credibility for all site operators affiliated to Microgaming.
Microgaming indeed holds a strong reputation among gamblers and I for one, think they deserve the accolades. Microgaming's software is very easy to navigate. A number of its powered sites present a feature where the gambler could view how much he/she has wagered at any point in the past, or check a record of other important data.
Naturally, casinos affiliated to them differ in many of their offerings, including bonuses. But it has been my personal observation that many are generous when it comes to that. Some examples: table limits from two dollars to one thousand, and the video machines (poker) from 25c to five dollars.
At present, they are powering over 120 online rooms and for a long time to come, they would remain to be a true Mover and Shaker in the gambling businesses.

Two camps here means the online kind of gambling and the landbased one. There are still people who doubt the honesty of online gambling rooms when it comes to financial transactions and payouts. Don't worry, a great majority (almost all in fact) of online rooms take their responsibilities very seriously, and they deal with payment-transacting firms with credible standing in the industry.
Actually, landbased sites are not infallible, truth is, there is always the possibilities of human errors on the side of the dealers/croupiers. Particularly for the very new ones, their sheer nervousness would account for the mistakes. (I once saw a dealer on his first day, this one in poker, he gave the pot to the wrong gambler THRICE in a span of 3 hours!)
Another difference would be the population of the players, it is evident that online wagering is more accessible. Then we speak of diversity, let us say you wish to see a half-African-half-Polish guy wagering on your landbased, what are the chances? I don't know, but it is safe to say, assuming the site is in this country, the odds are not encouraging. Just keep on going to that casino everyday, and sooner or later, there would be one. However, it would be later rather than sooner. Online though, the odds are quite encouraging, after all, the Net reaches out to the most obscure part of the globe.

Sure Roulette Method : I don't know about you, but I cringed when I first heard of this name, because...as far as I can say, no roulette system is sure, as in SURE. Not even the Martingale, although it could be considered as close to sure, if ever there is one.
Anyway, this is not exactly a system, but a book, but the book's contents would espouse on a system, so there. Same difference huh? I'm not going to give you a synopsis on the book, but I can say this though. If you have nothing better to do, you might get a copy and peruse it, there might just be things there that are new to you. It all depends really on how long you have been playing roulette, if you have been at it for more than 20 years, just buy the book as a gift to your casino sweetheart, if there is one.
Second: it is called Online Roulette Profits, the brainchild of Charles Brown. This is the thing though: while it could give you short-run victories, if you want to use it for the rest of your life, prepare for heavy losses, and I am speaking from a cumulative point of view.
If you want more elaborations regarding either of these two, the Net is not lacking from materials, all you need to do is surf.

Let me hide this online room's identity under the name of "GoodPiranhas_Gambling.com"...there, done with. OK...I'll give you a hint so that you would not be muttering under your breath. The real name of this online room is water-related, no, there is no "faucet" in there.
GoodPiranhas_Gambling.com is part of the Freshplay Network, an interactive gaming entity focusing on online wagering and gaming strategies.
They have a signup bonus for newcomers, and it is not US dollars alone, they give it out in $, €, £, ¥. Register with the real money account, and the enticement would be credited at once. Then, they have the G-fed points, and what are these exactly? For each bet done by the person, he accumulates points, then these points later on could be traded for real money. Gamblers can think of this as a daily enticement for visiting the site. (Ehr...just don't do it everyday during work-hours, it is a friendly suggestion...unless of course, your boss is always out).
Chances are, you are into poker, and if that is the case, I'll give you a clear reason for "researching" which site I am talking about. Their poker room is a very good one, thousands and thousands of gamblers join in. They have tourneys, freerolls and still good bonuses for the typical poker buff.

Powered of course by Microgaming, Boogie Monsters is monstrous, and I do not mean it in the negative meaning. "Monstrous" as the game features a werewolf (kind of funny), a witch (rock and roller) and other outlandish personas.
This slots game has free spins, forty paylines and a jackpot reward going up to 24,000 coins, gambler can bet from .01 to 200 dollars per run.
Fat bonus is activated when 3, 4 or 5 bats (YES, BATS) materialize. Via three bats, gambler would win twice the wager. If it is 4 bats, ten times the wager, with five bats...the site will give you a LIVE ONE for a pet, ha ha ha. No, seriously, with 5 bats, 100 times the bet is the equivalent.
If the gambler gets 3 or more scatter logos, he could win thirteen free spins, this symbol is like a lamp. When a gambler gets 5 scatters, he wins 100 x the wager, if four scatters, ten times the wager.
I don't know about you, but there is one disappointment for me: the ghoul is dressed just like Elvis, which for me is already so tiresome and some. The mummy riding the roller skates is cute, albeit too juvenile, but it would sit well with the really young players.
This game is offered by no less than sixteen Microgaming sites, all you need to do is surf and a bit and you'll find one in no time at all.

Let us look at tax matters from the side of the non-professionals. Tax Code mandates wagerers to do a record on wins/losses per session, and one could get all the won sessions for the whole year and sum them up.
For example, Bill has twelve thousand, then he could get all losing sessions and there exists now a second figure. For example, that is ten grand, it is not a simple matter of netting the two. The wins would go to "Other income" whereas the losses would be an item deductible, not under the two percent AGI Limitation on such matters.
You may say, "same difference", not exactly. One, you do not itemize the deductions that you lose on gambling. For these instances, the losses are assumed to be a part of the standard minuses. Two, a lot of things are linked to the AGI (Adjusted Gross income). Three, the losses could activate the AMT, which I am sorry to say, needs another whole piece for itself.
Ergo, you may say, "I'll just declare myself as a "pro", will they check up on it? Maybe not, and some years back, it would have been impossible. But then, somebody by the name of Groetzinger battled the IRS on this very matter. This court reached the Supreme Court and it put down the verdict that one could legally become a pro.
